Meet Eduardo: Supporting Communication, Culture, and Coffee

Written by Sancoffee | Sep 15, 2025 8:54:17 AM

Whether he’s helping plan events, capturing day-to-day life at the coop, or preparing drinks as part of the new Barista Club project, his role is all about building bridges - between people, places, and perspectives.

What drives you as a person?

There are a lot of things that make me who I am, but if I had to sum it up, I’d say it’s the desire to communicate better, with myself and with others. That’s something that’s been with me since I was a kid. I’ve always loved expressing myself, whether through photography, video, theater, dance, writing, or poetry. Every form of expression feels like a way to get closer to my most authentic self. I also draw a lot of motivation from my family and friends—after all, we don’t learn or grow alone. Oh, and a good cup of coffee definitely helps keep things flowing :)

What's your background?

I started working young. At 17, I trained as an actor at the Wolf Maya School, which made me fall in love with being in front of the camera. Later, I moved to Viçosa to study Social Sciences, where I dove into topics like culture, society, and behavior. During college, I interned doing creative writing for websites and blogs, that’s when I realized marketing could be my thing. Since then, I’ve worked with social media, content creation, and strategy. My path has always been about communication, in one form or another, and today I get to do it with a brand I really believe in.

What do you do at Sancoffee?

I started on the marketing team, capturing the day-to-day life of the cooperative and creating content that reflects who we are. I also help organize events and welcome visitors here in Brazil. Lately, I’ve been part of the Barista Club project - an idea we created to bring the barista point of view into our routine. It’s a fun way to connect the world of coffee drinks with the reality of those who grow it.

What does impact mean to you?

When I first joined Sancoffee, the way people talked about “impact” felt new to me but also very real. Over time, I’ve come to see it as something deeply human. It’s about building meaningful relationships that go beyond the work. When you’re connected with people in a genuine way, you naturally want to do better—not just for yourself, but for the whole group. That’s what leads to real, positive change.

How do you like your coffee?

Depends on the moment! In the morning, I go for something classic - sweet, balanced, brewed in a V60 or pulled as a long espresso. Later in the day, I like trying more adventurous stuff - fermented coffees, bold flavors. I love exploring new experiences in my cup.

What do you love most about your job?

Connecting with people, without a doubt. I get to meet people from all over the world and at the same time stay close to local producers who share my culture. The mix of perspectives is what makes this work so interesting. And I love being able to turn all of that into creative content that helps tell our story in a real way.

What’s your passion or hobby outside of work?

I love traveling and visiting people I care about. Even though I was born and raised in Minas Gerais, I still feel like there’s so much to discover here. I also enjoy cooking, going for a run, and making relaxed content for my own social media. And I’m a huge fan of music, photography, dance - basically, anything creative that lets me express myself.

What do you feel most excited about 2025?

Together with Bia and Heli (from the Quality Lab), we launched the Barista Club project. It’s been inspiring and has pushed me out of my comfort zone, which is great. For me, barista work connects naturally with marketing: both require planning and come together in the final stage, where everything is presented and communicated. Learning and practicing barista skills is, at the same time, a deep dive into Sancoffee’s coffees and a practical way to enhance my marketing work, while sharing the experience with our team.
